The Alientech KESSv2 was the industry's most popular OBD ECU programming tool from 2012–2020. While superseded by KESS3, it remains relevant for older ECU platforms and is still in active use at thousands of workshops worldwide.
KESSv2 is an OBD-only device — it does not support bench or boot protocols. It operates via a token-based system with hardware-locked tokens per ECU read/write. The software (K-Suite 2) is no longer receiving new ECU protocols from Alientech, but the existing library covers almost every ECU manufactured before 2018.
